Final Project Part Two

Image
"Such is the later stage of development of the social relation, our own, which is no longer one of persuasion ( the classical age of propaganda, ideology, publicity etc.) but one of dissuasion or deterrence: YOU are news, you are the social, the event is you, you are involved you can use your voice, etc" (Pg. 53). This quote is saying that you can have your own identity when it comes to you. I just feel like us people have a hard time finding that for their lives. But I feel like once you find a space or thing to do or claim you will be in better spot in your life. I relate this quote because it is the same thing when I am doing my art or other things that I am passionate or like doing.  https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/1C8cHh5Vg9A8U1f7Dn9MgMPuDxrywrrSyeZ98DlQ3k3k/edit?usp=sharing     For my final project I wanted to showcase movement in art which is dancing. I recently joined a group called Afro Fusions since last year of spring term. At first I was nervous be...

Robin Jebavy Reflection

Image
"In this  impossibility of isolating the process of simulation must be seen the whole thrust of an order that can only see and understand in terms of some reality, because it can function nowhere else" (Pg. 40) In this quote, I feel it talks about the separation of reality to current degree. I also feel like it can be put into reality too when you start think about things. From this it is saying that you can make it your own world if you put your mind to it.      Just hearing and looking at Robin Jebavy artwork I was so amazed and just attracted to work. Especially with this artwork piece I just like the colors of everything. It looks like different dimension that is going all at once. Just also hearing from her that you can take her artwork in different perspectives. Just seeing her you can tell she is really diverse in her artwork. Also doing research on her she was presented many artworks over Wisconsin which I thought was really cool, Looking...

Research Report

"Not so long ago sex and work were savagely opposed terms: both are dissolved into the same type of demand. Formerly the discourse on history took its force from opposing itself to the one on nature, the discourse on desire to the one on power-today they exchange their signifiers and their scenarios" (Pg. 36). This quote addresses the artist that I am going to be talking about which her name is Kara Walker. She is an African American woman that is a artist. Her artwork describes this quote because within her artwork she shows the sex or gender and work of African Americans being treated during that time.  https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/1Agga-CSm2YJGUmdoAaDBTH-0phX98CxfcjjSxjXxSRk/edit?usp=sharing Kara Walker is a good artist that represents good African American artwork. Looking at her artwork you can tell that she has passion for what she has been through or talking about with her artwork. For me looking at her art you can tell that it is a true deep meaning to her ...

Eric Garcia Artist Talk

Image
"The conjunction of desire and value, of desire and capital. The conjunction of desire and law-the ultimate joy and metamorphosis of the law (which is why it is so well received at the moment): only capital takes pleasure, Lyotard said, before coming to think that we take pleasure in capital" (Pg. 35). This quote relates Eric Garcia because his artwork he shows how the art is being made of his desires. When it comes to doing your art you should have this joy or passion when you're doing your art. I feel like Eric Garcia brings that when he was discussing his artwork.   I really did like Garcia's artwork and what he brings to the art world. Just looking at his artwork it has so many animated cartoon characters. But if really look at them its more like a political aspect to his artwork. Especially in these two images that I have picked out. I really like his these two pieces because I feel it represents people of what they have been through in this world. Just looking a...
